“FUN TAIPEI Cafe” Individual Travel Fair Welcomes Malaysians to Experience Taipei City’s Tourist Enticements and Muslim-Friendly Environment
The Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism (DOIT) held the kickoff ceremony for its “FUN TAIPEI Cafe” Individual Travel Fair on June 25th at the 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Over the next three days (June 26th-28th ), DOIT is promoting Taipei City’s wide-ranging opportunities for individual tourism to Malaysian travelers at 1 Utama through its “2015 FUN TAIPEI CAFÉ – Afternoon Tea in Taipei @ 1 Utama” activity. China Airlines, Air Asia, and seven travel agencies are making good use of this event to offer promotional discounts and exclusive deals to individual travelers from Malaysia. This event will also be the first ever to highlight Taipei’s many enticements for Muslim travelers, including Muslim-friendly hotels, Halal-certified restaurants, and selected cultural sites and attractions. Taipei City is pleased to extend a warm hand of friendship to all Malaysians, along with a sincere invitation to come enjoy Taipei’s friendly and convenient travel environment, many unique charms, and world-famous culinary landscape.
DOIT’s partnership with top airlines, hotels, and travel agencies for this year’s FUN TAIPEI Café fair plugs Malaysian travelers directly into great deals and insider itineraries. Fair organizers are promoting 4 distinctive general itineraries, plus an itinerary that has been tailored especially for Muslim vacationers, with exclusive deals worth up to 30% off the retail price of trips lasting 3 days or more. Additionally, travel-fair visitors can pick up a gift packet that includes a coupon booklet with discounts valued at a total of RM4,500 (NT$45,000) on a great selection of products and services, a limited-edition EasyCard, and a commemorative travel pouch. DOIT Senior Specialist Yung-hwa Shen states that to encourage more Muslim friends to visit Taipei, the department recently invited Malaysian actress Yana Samsudin and her husband, director Fadzil Zahari, to visit Taipei to film episodes of the Astro travel program Romantika. Program contents highlight the Muslim-friendly aspects of Taipei tourism, introducing DOIT’s travel itinerary recommendations for Muslims as well as the comprehensive list of Muslim-friendly accommodations and Halal-certified restaurants that is has prepared to help ensure that Muslim families fully enjoy their stay. The Romantika episodes filmed in Taipei are scheduled for broadcast in July.
