G Adventures Sees Strong Growth In Female Travel Market

G Adventures, the world’s leading adventure travel company, has seen strong growth in the adventure travel sector for solo female travellers, reporting that Australian female travellers aged 25 to 39 now make up 48 per cent of all bookings, which is up 7 per cent year on year.

The company has launched their biggest promotional campaign globally to inspire Australian and New Zealander women to ‘Make Your Next Step Count’, recognising that 74 per cent of women head overseas for “time to think” or “escape the day to day.”

“Female travellers are the fastest growing segment in the adventure travel sector, with many using unique travel experiences to widen their world view and gain perspective,” said Belinda Ward, Managing Director, G Adventures Australia and New Zealand.

“The ‘Make Your Next Step Count’ campaign was developed to inspire people to alter the course of their lives forever through travel. Many people, including those working in the travel industry, can often feel burnt out or overwhelmed with work, the campaign confronts people with a choice: continue to live an ordinary life or take the next step towards an extraordinary one.”

The campaign is headlined by a video starring Channel 9 personality Lauren Phillips as she travels through India with G Adventures.

As part of the campaign, a major online competition will alter the lives of three Australians forever.  Entrants will be required to select an image which best represents how they dream of taking their next step, and then explain why they are ready to take the next step in their lives. Winners will be surprised in their workplaces, homes, gyms by the G Adventures team before being whisked off on a tour that will ensure their next step is the one they’ve always wanted to take.
