G Adventures has won the Best Content Creation Award at the Festival of Media Global Awards for its campaign ‘Make your Next Step Count’ which encouraged Australians to book an overseas adventure and make a positive change in their life.
The adventure travel company won the Gold Award, and recognition that the campaign was the best of the best globally for the year, overcoming entries from companies such as Pepsi and McDonald’s.
The campaign, which was led by OMD Fuse in Melbourne was designed to inspire people who are at a crossroads in their life, challenging them to “Make Your Next Step Count” with soul enriching travel that makes a difference to the world.
The campaign was aimed at Australian women and in order to best appeal to them, Australian travel TV presenter Lauren Phillips was the face of the campaign. Her ‘girls trip’ to India was captured on screen and the content amplified in a targeted, multi-screen strategy using paid social, digital, TVs in gyms and cinema advertising.
14 other high profile, lifestyle and travel influencers were also engaged to share stories of their #NextStep and everyday Australians were given the opportunity to share their own #NextStep to be in the draw to win one of three overseas trips.
Each monthly winner’s announcement was designed to create more shareable content; the film crew accompanied each winner on their trip, creating amazing content that brought the trip experience to life and inspired others.
