One of the biggest children’s summer camps in Abu Dhabi will be hosted by the Armed Forces Officers Club this year, running from August 11 and September 5 between 0900 and 1400 hours.

Open to children aged five to 13 years, the camp is designed to make use of all the sporting facilities of the venue including a large swimming pool, bowling alley, shooting gallery and multi-purpose halls that can accommodate football, basketball and volleyball games.

Children can also learn martial arts, water sports, arts and crafts, take part in cultural events and competitions, participate in accompanied recreational trips around the emirate and hone their skills at Play Station and video games.unnamed (35)

According to Mr Salah Khider, Director of Operations at the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel, every child will be able to find something to learn or play at the summer camp.

“With such vast indoor facilities, the Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel is the ideal venue for a camp that aims to keep hundreds of children amused and occupied during their holidays,” he said.  “It is the ideal opportunity to let them try out a new pastime, keep fit and meet with their friends.”

Cost for a week is AED1,000 per child, rising to AED2,000 for two weeks, AED2,500 for three weeks and AED3,000 for the duration of the camp.

In addition, a discount is offered for families with two or more children wishing to send them along for the whole time, with a price of AED5,000 for two, AED7,500 for three and AED10,000 covering four children.

The Armed Forces Officers Club & Hotel features 600 elegantly appointed guests rooms and luxurious suites – embraced by an impressive, inner garden, which is one of the world’s largest assemblies of one hundred and forty two species of plants in an indoor location.
