Garuda Indonesia Launches the First Class Service Welcoming Newest Member in Fleet

Garuda Indonesia, the airline of Indonesia, has launched the new First Class service in its newest fleet member, the state of the art Boeing 777-300ER, with an exquisite touch of unique Indonesian hospitality as part of the “Garuda Indonesia Experience”.

Emirsyah Satar, Garuda Inonesia’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “the inauguration of our First Class service that will take our services to an entirely new level of excellence. On top of that, the delivery of the Boeing 777-300ER sets a new standard of quality and value in air travel, especially for direct, long-haul flights, as we continue to expand our destination network globally. These two new developments mark an important milestone for Garuda.”

As part of efforts to enhance service to Garuda’s customers, the new Boeing 777-300ER fleet will showcase First Class with the concept of “Garuda Indonesia Experience”, to allow passengers to experience Indonesia as its best. It is based on “5 senses” (sight, scent, taste, touch and sound), that in line with the local cultural elements. From the interior design of aircraft, exotic scent of Indonesian flowers, folk music, to traditional food served and more.

In the plan, “First Class” is described as intimate, authentic, and engaging. “Executive Class” service is more energetic, authentic, and dynamic, while “Economy Class” service is dynamic, positive, and warm.

When flying First Class, passengers will be able to enjoy private seating and the dedicated on board chef service, enabling them to choose from a selection of delicious meals from a First-Class menu, prepared at an altitude of more than 35,000 feet.

The Boeing 777-300ER has a capacity of ‘314 passengers, with a seating configuration of 8 seats in First Class, 38 seats in Business Class, and 268 seats in Economy Class. It is now serving the Jakarta – Jeddah route, benefitting frequent Hong Kong business travelers who are visiting Saudi Arabia from Jakarta. Meanwhile, leisure travelers can enjoy the new Jakarta – Sydney, Jakarta – Tokyo, and Jakarta – Shanghai routes from November 2013 after the next three Boeing 777-300ER operate. Three more aircraft are scheduled to arrive in 2014 and a further three aircraft will arrive in 2015.

The new inclusion of Boeing 777-300ER is in line with the corporate transformation and expansion initiative, the Quantum Leap 2011-2015 program, which aims to increase the capacity and broaden the international network.

“The launch of the First Class service and the introduction of Boeing 777-300ER for the Jakarta – Jeddah route is a piece of great news for frequent Hong Kong travelers. As one of the major economic hubs for Saudi Arabia, Jeddah is gaining its importance among businesses in Hong Kong and the Greater China. With these new developments, Hong Kong business travelers can enjoy a truly engaging and hassle-free journey on their way to their destination,” commented Dedy Irawan, General Manager of Garuda Indonesia in Hong Kong and Macau.

The new aircraft is also equipped with in-flight connectivity; including exConnect (WiFi internet connection) enabling passengers to remain connected to the internet and continue their business activities during the flight, and live broadcast TV from six international channels for access to their favorite entertainment.

“The delivery of the new Boeing 777-300ER and the “First Class” service launch were in line with the airline’s effort to broaden its international flight network, particularly on long-haul flight routes, as part of its strategy to become a “Global Player”, added by Mr. Emirsyah Satar.
