Garuda Indonesia, the airline of Indonesia, was named Payload Asia’s ‘Rising Star Carrier of the Year’ ahead of other leading airlines such as Etihad Airways and Kenyan Airways.

Adding to a growing list of recent accolades for Garuda Indonesia, the Payload Asia award honours the airline’s success in the air cargo industry, recognising its enhancement of services, redesigned processes and improved productivity.

Commenting on the award, Bagus Y. Siregar, Vice President for Garuda Indonesia Australia and SWP said: “To be recognised as a ‘Rising Star Carrier’ is a testament to Garuda Indonesia’s ongoing commitment to respond, innovate, develop and adapt our products and services in our air cargo division. We are incredibly proud of Garuda Indonesia’s transformation over recent years; this award provides us with the encouragement and determination to continue to differentiate ourselves in the market.”

The Payload Asia Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony took place in Singapore at the Pan Pacific Singapore Hotel on Thursday, 17th October 2013. Finalists for each award were selected by an expert judging panel, judging the nominees on network growth, development strategy, strong operational performance and adaptability to respond to the changing market. Readers then voted to determine the award category winner.
