The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – today announced FOX News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly will be a featured speaker at GBTA Convention 2015, July 25-29 in Orlando, Florida. Kelly will be speaking at Convention Arena on Wednesday, July 29.
“Broadcast news, much like the business travel industry, has undergone tremendous transformation and innovation as it faces changes in the way people consume information and a world where news, content and opinions are instantly shared,” said Michael W. McCormick, GBTA executive director and COO. “We are pleased to welcome Megyn Kelly as a featured speaker at GBTA Convention 2015 as she provides attendees with unique insights and perspectives on #Sharing information with the world, embracing a social presence and providing a platform for discussing breaking events as they unfold.”
Megyn Kelly currently serves as anchor of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) The Kelly File and is based in New York. She joined the network in 2004 as a Washington-based correspondent. Ranked as the number two program in cable news, The Kelly File focuses on late-breaking stories as well as in-depth investigative reports along with newsmaker interviews. The program capitalizes on Kelly’s skills as a former litigator and provides a platform to discuss developing angles as events unfold, while embracing a stronger social media presence.
Throughout her tenure with FNC, Kelly has covered breaking news and has reported live from numerous political events. Some of the major stories she’s covered for the network include the 2013 government shutdown, the Boston Marathon bombing, the election of Pope Francis and the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, CT. She also provided coverage of the deadly EF5 tornado in Joplin, MO and the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Most recently, in 2014, Kelly was listed as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University and a J.D. from Albany Law School, where she graduated with honors and served as editor of the Albany Law Review.
Attendee registration is open now. Register by June 1, 2015 to receive $100 in savings. More info on programs will be unveiled in the coming months. For the latest developments and more information, please visit gbta.org/convention.
