GBTA Congratulates Global Entry Success: One Million and Going Strong

Yesterday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that one million people have been given the designation of a ‘trusted traveler’ through the Global Entry program.

The program, which was launched five years ago, provides arriving travelers with a quicker, more efficient and more secure entry process into the United States.

The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the voice of the global business travel industry, today issued a statement congratulating CBP on the success of the Global Entry program from Executive Director and COO Michael W. McCormick.

“Global Entry –a million members and still growing – is a success story for U.S. Customs and Border Protection and business travelers. Low-risk, high-frequency international business travelers are the perfect fit for quick, secure customs clearance on arrival at U.S. airports and at preclearance airports. That means one less travel hassle for these busy road warriors and one more win for the nation’s economy. Innovative Trusted Traveler programs like Global Entry that encourage, rather than discourage, business travel to the United States are essential to our ability to compete in the global marketplace.”

“Congratulations and thank you to CBP and the many dedicated CBP officers for facilitating travel while keeping the nation secure. You have our full support for further Global Entry expansion.”
