Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel management company that specializes in owning and operating luxury and upscale urban hotels and resorts, today announced the opening of the European-styleBeachwalk Resort on the intercoastal waterway in Hallandale, Fla. The $150 million, 33-story resort is the latest project by The Related Group of Miami, Fla., the leading developer of luxury condominiums and multi-family residences, and comprises 300 units, 216 of which are divisible two-bedroom suites. It is the first of three Broward County projects currently under development by The Related Group that Gemstone will operate.

“Gemstone has an impeccable track record of maximizing and managing complex resorts in top vacation destinations throughout the U.S.,” said Jorge Pérez, CEO of The Related Group. “By partnering with Gemstone on these, we are able to successfully expand our focus to include luxury hospitality services in our residential projects.”

“The Beachwalk Resort is in the heart of everything visitors want from a South Florida vacation,” said Jeff McIntyre, principal of Gemstone. “An amenity-rich resort with this combination of location, high-style and casual vibe is certain to resonate with both domestic and international vactioners who travel here for world-class shopping, beautiful weather, sandy beaches, racetracks, gaming and more.”

Beachwalk bears many of the design hallmarks of The Related Group’s residential projects, including interiors designed by Pininfarina using soft earthy palettes of white and brown and featuring contemporary Italian furnishings. The international design group is known for its work with brands such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and BMW. The hotel features original works of art from the personal collection of Jorge Pérez, patron of the Pérez Art Museum Miami.

The resort owners and guests enjoy a stunning, three-story beach club with pool, lockers, showers, restrooms, an outdoor bar and restaurant with chaise service and beach facilities, all accessible by a complimentary, electric trolley. The resort’s restaurants include Beachwalk Bistro & Market, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as grab-and-go items, and the Beachwalk Bar and Pool Grill. An infinity edged pool, contemporary fitness center, complimentary bicycles for city touring, grocery shopping services and a complimentary shuttle service to the Hollywood Broadwalk, Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino and Aventura Mall are highlights of the amenity rich offerings.

“Because of their deep understanding of the luxury residential market, The Related Group has developed a vacation resort that speaks to the needs and desires of the modern family,” noted Thomas Prins, principal of Gemstone. “With two more similarly positioned resorts coming on line in 2016 and in 2018, I expect that we will dramatically shift the mix of vacation options in this part of South Florida, and perhaps even define a new standard.”

Located at 2602 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., the Beachwalk Resort is centrally located to numerous white-sand beaches, Hollywood Broadwalk, Mardi Gras and Gulfstream Park Racinos, Aventura Mall, Sawgrass Outlet Mall and Ft. Lauderdale’s famous nightlife. For additional information, please go to
