While 2019 has just begun, we already have some great news to share, including some amazing accomplishments and key milestones for the hotel. A big welcome to Mr. GP Yeow as our General Manager of W Hong Kong, leading the team to push boundaries to next level of non-traditional luxury. More big news, it is our honor to be rewarded by global authorities on travel: four-star rating on Forbes Travel Guide 2019 Star Award, and named as one of the Top 25 Hotels in China for 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers Choice Awards in three categories including Top 25 Hotels for Service – China (No. 7), Top 25 Luxury Hotels – China (No. 11) and Top 25 Hotels – China (No. 14).
General Manager Appointment
In exciting W news, from December of 2018 Mr. GP Yeow has been appointed as General Manager of W Hong Kong. GP is an innovator who is experienced in unleashing possibilities of non-traditional luxury, the team is ready to carve out a new distinct in the hotel market with him at helm.
GP began his career as a chef in Perth Australia, he worked in both Culinary and B&F Service, also in Rooms Division before he landed his feet as Hotel Manager / Director of Operations. GP worked in Australia, Malaysia and China with extensive operational experience, he was appointed as Area Director of Operations overseeing Marriott Hotels at North East Asia and North China in 2010 and 2012 respectively.
Prior to joining W Hong Kong, GP was General Manager at JW Marriott Beijing for 5.5 years, his leadership excellence was recognized with awards including The Best General Manager Award by The 7th Annual China Awards by Lifestyle Magazine and General Manager Leadership Excellence Award (Luxury) by Marriott International Greater China, both in 2017.
