A Frontier Airlines pilot bought Domino’s pizza for everyone on his plane after storms forced him to divert the flight to another airport.
The flight was headed to Denver, Colorado, but was diverted instead to Cheyenne Wyoming, where the plane was stuck for a couple of hours, USA Today reported.
One passenger told television channel KUSA-TV that Captain Gerhard Bradner bought more than 50 pizzas, using his own money, to feed his hungry passengers as they waited on the tarmac for departure. Frontier Airlines has confirmed that the kind gesture happened.
The manager of the Cheyenne Domino’s Pizza manager has related how he was about to send his employees home at 10pm when the phone rang and the pilot said he needed to feed 160 people.
The manager made an on-the-spot decision to call his staff back, and they relished the challenge, he said.
They made “about 35 pizzas” and delivered them to the airport, arriving just in time to feed the grateful passengers before the plane took off.
