Geoff Stone has assumed the position of Finnair General Manager, Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia which replaces his former role as Country Sales Manager for these markets.
Mr Stone, who has been in his Sydney-based role with Finnair for five years, said the change of title was part of Finnair’s aim to evolve with the demands of global markets and enhance the carrier’s strategy as well as continuing “on the road of transformation growth, people and the customer experience”.
Since joining Finnair, Mr Stone has overseen the growth of the Australian market connecting with Finnair flights in Asia and flying onto a vast array of world destinations and the management of teams in Finnair’s offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Noumea.
He has also headed up Finnair’s wins for four consecutive years in the AFTA National Travel Industry Awards from 2013 – 2016 in the category of Best Off-Line Carrier.
