The Green Globe Certification Standard is a globally recognized certification process specifically for the travel and tourism industry. To participate, members must document sustainable activities and meet a wide range of criteria according in key theme areas: sustainable management, social/economic, cultural environment and environment in the Green Globe System. Additionally, an accredited independent auditor conducts an onsite audit of the company.

participating companies.

Competency Centre for Sustainability
The GNTB has systematically developed and expanded its sustainability competencies using a three-pillar strategy. The first pillar consists of developing concrete sustainable products, services and projects. The GNTB shares its knowledge with partners in a variety of formats and links competencies within its network. The second pillar, “Communications Strategy”, entails coupling sustainability with its core brand, e.g. by focused theme marketing and inclusion of all marketing tools. The GNTB presents the high standards achieved by destination Germany at international workshops and conferences on a regular basis.
