Air Tahiti Nui will introduce high speed Wi-Fi to its inflight service from 2018, when the airline takes delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
As part of a new partnership with Panasonic Avionics Corporation, Air Tahiti Nui will equip four of its Boeing 787-9s with Panasonic’s inflight Wi-Fi service as well as its industry leading eX3 inflight entertainment system featuring high-definition screens.
Panasonic’s eXConnect operates over the company’s Ku-band satellite network – the only global broadband inflight connectivity service in use today.
The advanced broadband service will mean Air Tahiti Nui guests can stay connected during the airline’s short and long haul flights to Tahiti, Los Angeles, Paris and beyond.
Presently operating five A340-300 aircraft, the airline is set to take delivery of four Boeing 787-9 aircraft from 2018 – a combination of two leased and two purchased aircraft, providing guests with the very latest in comfort and technology during their flight.
