KL is a bubbling melting pot of cultures, ethnicities and religions. Throw friendly and welcoming people into the mix, along with some of the best shopping and cuisine on the planet, and this dynamic and exciting city is hard to beat.

But for those seeking a slightly different perspective of Malaysia’s biggest metropolis, the KL BY Cycle Program is a novel way to uncover the some of the city’s hidden gems. Operated by the highly successful KL Hop on Hop off Bus Tour, the program allows visitors to tour the picturesque sites of KL on two wheels, and take one of several designated routes around the city, each filled with a myriad of sights and attractions.

Depending on your inclination, you can join the Guided Bike Tour in the company of a knowledgeable local guide. With a minimum of 8 cyclists and no more than twelve riders per group, tours are completed at a relaxing pace, with limited street riding. Or, for the more independent minded, rent a bike and tour the Nature Route at your own pace with the Free & Easy Ride Package. Take a leisurely ride through lush green gardens – including KL’s oldest park, ride past heritage sites and historical buildings, with plenty of time to stop and explore any of the interesting spots en route.

Each package includes a city bike, safety helmet, safety vest and bicycle lock. Bikes are comfy and easy to use, and it’s a fun, safe biking experience for people of every age – not to mention a great eco-friendly way to discover the city.

  • The Free & Easy Ride package costs RM30 (around A$10) per person for the first 4 hours and 5RM per hour for additional hours.
  • Guided Bike Tours are RM45 per person (around A$15) and operate with a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 12 people.
  • Bikes can be collected from and returned to the KL BY Cycle Centre, 27 Jalan Raja, Dataran Merdaka, 50050 Kulala Lumpur
