Get transported to a summer abroad at Tycoon Tann

image002Although located in the heart of Central on Wellington Street, Tycoon Tann transports guests to a summer abroad through photography exhibition by Vivian Wong, complete with a lighter modern Chinese menu by Chef Ng Chun Pui. An oasis perfect to beat the summer heat.

Tycoon Tann will be collaborating with Vivian Wong to exhibit her three-part photography series ‘Mood for Love’. From July to September, guests will be able to enjoy ‘Azure’.

 “We decided to adorn Tycoon Tann with the new exhibition Azure as it gives a feeling of serenity, yet summer vibes. When I saw these images, I wanted to jump on a plane to Maldives. The lightness depicted in these images are matched by our new summer menu in the restaurant. I believe that art and dining is a pair made in heaven, and I hope that guests will enjoy the heavenly ambience at Tycoon Tann’s restaurant, thanks to Vivian’s amazing photography,” says Cherry Lo, Executive Director of bma Catering Management.

 The album name was simply inspired by the fact that all the photos are blue. I think ‘Azure’ is a beautiful interpretation of the word and color blue. This is a colour that excites me, yet also gives me a sense of clamminess at the same time. I believe the series of photos reflects the gentle and tame world we live in and resembles the happiness and optimism one’s life face. These photographs were all taken in Maldives,” says artistic photographer Vivian Wong.


New summer light dishes include the Organic German White Asparagus served with either Parma ham soup (HKD 198), black truffle (HKD 198)or fresh crab meat (HKD 238), Chilled Stem Lettuce with preserved plum (HKD 98), Smoked Poached Egg with caviar (HKD 88) and Braised Summer Squash with sea cucumber and millet (HKD 258).

For something fruity and seasonal, guests can select the Baked Mexican Avocado stuffed with fresh crab meat, onion and cheese (HKD 158) or the Stir Fried Prawns with mango mayonnaise (HKD 288).

Downstairs at Mod Bar, Bar Manager Kenny Yuen has crafted a new cocktail, inspired by Vivian’s photography series. Azure will get guests in the right attitude for the summer. It is made with homemade pineapple ginger rum, Lillet blanc, lime juice, syrup, coconut water and candy floss (HKD 168).
