Gold Coast Surfers Can Now Access Elite-Level Training From Barton Lynch and Other Pros via New Online Video Coaching Platform
Surf brand Hurley is harnessing the power of the Internet to democratise access to elite level surf training, offering Gold Coast surfers free world-class personal video coaching via its newly launched Hurley Surf Club online platform.
Accessed at just the click of a few buttons, the Hurley Surf Club Personal Video Coaching feature offers local surfers of all levels a chance to hone their skills and technique under the tutelage of the world’s best surfers, coaches, shapers, technicians and scholars of surf.
The platform is revolutionary for the surf industry, opening up opportunities for everyday surfers to connect with the upperechelons of surf coaches, whom are usually inaccessible due to geographic, time and cost limitations.
All a local surfer needs to do to participate in the program is sign up at the Hurley website, submit a questionnaire about their surfing and upload a one minute video (or less) of them surfing two right and left waves to YouTube.
Within 24 hours of submission, an expert coach will review the surfer’s questionnaire and video, before providing personalised analysis and feedback on how to improve their technique and surf skills.
The program’s global roster of coaches includes former world champion and Australian surfing legend Barton Lynch, who has already begun analysing and coaching a number of local surfers online.
“I’m pretty excited about the online coaching, mainly because we’re offering it free of charge, and have some of the world’s best surfing technicians on the team, guys like Mike Parsons, Chris Gallagher, Jeremy Carter and myself. It’s pretty impressive that anyone can experience this program and it can be accessed anytime or anywhere,” said Barton Lynch.
In addition to the personal video coaching feature, the online Hurley Surf Club offers free how-to videos breaking down the techniques of top pros including Carissa Moore, Kolohe Andino, Rob Machado and Michel Bourez, as well as tip-led articles from experts covering the whole gamut of surfing – from diet and fitness advice, to how to pick the right board and local surf training events.
