Australian cricket legend Shane Warne swapped spin bowling for the more relaxed greens of the Australian Golf Club, as he played alongside international golfing great Jordan Spieth at the Emirates Australian Open Pro-Am.
“What a fantastic way to warm up for the start of the Emirates Australian Open. It’s an incredible experience playing against some of the world’s greatest golfers, as well as the best spinner the cricketing game has ever produced,” said Barry Brown, Emirates’ Divisional Vice President for Australasia.
“We’re proud to partner once again with this historic tournament on its 100th year and we look forward to watching Jordan fight it out for the title alongside some of the sport’s other big names over the coming days,” added Barry Brown.
Meanwhile, Adam Scott, enjoyed a change of pace after the Pro-Am when he mentored a group of budding junior golfers from Massey Park Golf Club.
Thanks to Emirates, the club juniors spent the afternoon with Scott, where he shared some of his secrets to his success and what they need to do to become golfing greats.
“We take pride in connecting golfing professionals and fans alike, and more importantly facilitating an opportunity for tomorrow’s stars of the game to meet a world class athlete such as Adam Scott, so they can learn directly from him what they need to do to make it on the global stage,” concluded Barry Brown.
Held from 26 November until 29 November 2015, the Emirates Australian Open will host an impressive field of play once again at this year’s venue The Australian Golf Club, Sydney NSW. The Emirates Marquee will provide guests with an uninterrupted view of the 18th green. In the village, spectators will be able put their golfing skills to the test at the Emirates Lifestyle Booth by taking part in the Emirates putting competition, where competitors will get the chance to win a trip to England to attend to the BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club in Surrey.
