Golf Wonderful Indonesia re-launches web portal in Chinese, Korean, Japanese

Golf Wonderful Indonesia, the growing golf-holiday consortium, has announced the re-launch of its branded web portal,, in Chinese-, Japanese- and Korean-language versions.

These three new portals complement the original web site, which will continue to post Indonesian golf travel information English.

Golf Wonderful has also strengthened its relationship with Enjoy Jakarta, the tourism entity promoting Indonesia’s capital city. The newly updated features 250x250additional content — print and video — extolling the golfing and social virtues of the country’s largest city.

“Jakarta is not just the gateway to Indonesia, the place where most international flights deliver golf travelers — it’s one of the most cosmopolitan and fun-loving cities in all of Asia,” said Harmony Thomas, president director of Jakarta-based PT Panorama Wisata Nusantara, the tour operator managing all in-bound traffic for Golf Wonderful Indonesia.

“I think some people think of Jakarta as the capital of a very conservative nation and assume it’s a very boring place. That is simply not the case. Jakarta is home to some of Asia’s best bars, finest restaurants and most lively nightclubs, not to mention an incredibly diverse music scene. Anything you might expect to do in, say, Bangkok or Shanghai, you can do just as well, if not better in Jakarta — and more affordably.”

This is part of the message shared via the new Mandarin, Japanese and Korean incarnations of the Golf Wonderful web portal, all which went live in July. Each can be reached via its own URL — or via the original, English-language site, which features links via the PRC, Japanese and South Korean flag icons positioned along the top navigation bar.

Launched in August 2012, Golf Wonderful Indonesia has gathered partner courses and hotels the length and breadth of the Archipelago, in order to provide custom golf travel packages that leverage the country’s unique standing as a golf destination both exotic and affordable.

“Our vision for Golf Wonderful has always viewed the Chinese, Korean and Japanese markets as key to our success in bringing traveling golfers to Indonesia, and our growth in these markets over the last year has naturally prompted our need to communicate with them directly, in their native tongues,” said Thomas.

“Translating all that information has been a big job — an ongoing job, because all new content will ultimately be available in all four languages. But we are committed to serving all international markets, and these three new sites are important steps toward that goal.”

Another next step will be the addition of several new partner courses from the cool Bogor Highland region just south of Jakarta, along with packages that deliver those spectacular golf experiences very affordably.

Said Thomas, “These are some of the best tracks in all of Asia, and they are all the more inviting for being so very accessible from Jakarta itself. Nowhere else in Asia can golfers enjoy the urban delights of a major, cosmopolitan city and access more than 10 world-class courses — at altitude — in an hour’s time. This is the sort of opportunity we will be sharing directly with traveling golfers — along with special package pricing — via these new web portals, our Facebook page and Twitter feed. So do bookmark, like and follow accordingly for all the latest details.”

All four portals are indeed complemented by interactive media components including the GWI Facebook page ( and Twitter account (follow GWI @golfwonderful). For more information on Golf Wonderful Indonesia, call +62 21.536.4469 or drop an email to
