For the very first time, two of Viking’s award-winning ocean ships are simultaneously sailing in Australian waters — Viking Orion and Viking Sun.

After spending just over three months home-porting in Australia, travelling between Sydney and Auckland on Viking’s new Australia & New Zealand itinerary, Viking Orion is now due to set sail for Bali in order to commence the cruise line’s popular Komodo & the Australian Coast itinerary.

Meanwhile, Viking Sun has arrived back Down Under again after her maiden visit in February last year. She is currently sailing the 2019 Viking World Cruise – the second world cruise which spans 128-days, stopping in Sydney, Hobart and Melbourne, and visiting the ports of Adelaide and Perth for the first time.

Viking has six ocean ships at present, and having two of those ships in Australian waters at the same time is exciting for us as a business. It really demonstrates just how fast the cruise market is growing in both Australia and New Zealand, and how dedicated we are to the region,” said Jane Moggridge, GM Marketing & Communications, Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand.

Viking Orion will recommence homeporting in Australia for three months from early December 2019.
