Grain Bar At Four Seasons Hotel Sydney Exceeds 200 Whiskies

Already offering Sydney’s most geographically diverse whisky list, Grain bar now has one of the largest lists of whisky in the city, exceeding the 200 mark this week.


The milestone follows a visit to Grain by Suntory Whisky’s Mike Miyamoto – the fourth master distiller to run a masterclass in the bar in the past 12 months, following Jimmy and Eddy Russell (Wild Turkey), John Campbell (Laphroaig) and Chris Morris (Woodford Reserve).

Grain’s 200-plus list features a mix of rare and well-known, single malt and blended whiskies, sourced locally and from all over the world, including Scotland, Japan, Ireland, Canada, Wales, US, Sweden, South Africa, India and Taiwan.

Prices range from AUD 10 a dram through to AUD 380 for Port Ellen 9th Release 30 Year Old.

To celebrate its growing list, Grain has launched Whisky Flight of the Week, offering a different set selection of four 15 ml whiskies for AUD 40 each week, Monday to Sunday.

The new offering is an extension of Grain’s popular Whisky Mondays – a night dedicated to whisky, with flights of four 15 ml whiskies of choice for AUD 30, and 20 percent off all whiskies.

“The Grain crew is very passionate about our whisky collection,” Bar Manager Alexandra Dahlenburg says. “As a cocktail and spirits bar celebrating the fine craft of drinking, we love introducing whisky to beginners, and finding something rare, new or unusual for whisky connoisseurs. Whisky is a very personal thing. Different people pick up different flavours in the same whisky. It’s our aim to match a whisky to each person’s individual tastes.”

Some of Grain’s most popular cocktails also feature whisky, such as the Walnut Derby made with Woodford Reserve bourbon whiskey and salted caramel, stirred with walnut and chocolate bitters.

In addition to whisky and creative cocktails, Grain is renowned for serving up local wine and boutique beer, craft spirits and some of the best bar food in Sydney.  Grain is open from lunch until late every day, and is located in Sydney’s The Rocks at 199 George Street, within Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.
