Grand Opening of Búho Cocina y Cantina in Waikiki, August 5th

Since the unveiling of the beautiful new space last month, Waikiki has only started to see what Búho is made of.

Opening the first rooftop restaurant and bar in Honolulu which spans more than 12,000 square feet required extensive preparation and practice to bring every aspect of service together. Búho’s goal and priority before making their grand debut? “Excellent customer service, delicious food, a lively bar scene, and a chic ambiance for a one of a kind experience,” according to CEO, Hide Sakurai. The kitchen, staff and management have been training and preparing for months while Chef Arturo Silva and the kitchen crew have been perfecting their elevated twist on traditional Mexican cuisine. You can tell by the attention to detail, high level of service, and presentation of each unique dish that great care and consideration has gone into every element.

As the sun starts to set on the horizon and the trade winds draw up an ocean breeze, the fuchsia-lit sky and sparkling city lights create a dining atmosphere unlike any other in Hawaii. Whether you are seated at the impressive 50 foot bar overlooking the city-scape, on the lower cantina area with a view of the historic Royal Hawaiian, or next to the reflection pool and fire feature, the rooftop lends itself to anyone who wants a fresh experience. There is no strict dress code and plenty of space to entertain large parties, celebrate a special occasion or take the family for an evening out on the town.

August 5th not only marks the official Grand Opening for Búho Cocina y Cantina, but the first monthly ‘Cinco de Búho’ Celebration. Mexican Independence Day falls on the 5th of May, and Búho has decided to carry on the celebration on the fifth of each month by bringing a little bit of Mexico City to Waikiki. It will be a Mexican street party on a rooftop in Waikiki with entertainment, food and drink specials. Búho invites you to experience what happens when ‘Hola meets Aloha’ and join them for a dining experience filled with excitement, fun and unique flavors.

Búho is located at 2250 Kalakaua Avenue. To access this rooftop gem, take the Kalakaua Avenue elevator or the Waikiki Shopping Plaza Elevator to the 5th Floor. Hours of operation are from 11 AM to 1 AM Sunday through Thursday, and 11 AM to 2 AM Friday and Saturday. The Kitchen will close one hour prior to closing.
