Internationally renowned Berlin DJ Claptone is guest star for the official grand opening of New York-style jazz venue STUDIO in Central on 17th December.
The mysterious superstar of the global electronic scene intrigues audiences at the world’s hottest clubs and festivals wearing a gold Venetian mask, top hat and white magician gloves.
He now celebrates the opening of Hong Kong’s first elite jazz venue with his trademark house mixes of indie vocalists and cult artists such as Gregory Porter, Faithless and Metronomy.
DJ Claptone is the first of a calendar of headline DJs and live jazz artists performing at the exclusive new club in On Hing Building at 1 On Hing Terrace, located just off Wyndham street in Central.

The opening also introduces STUDIO’s new resident jazz band, co-headlined by sultry Jennifer Palor, dubbed “the most exciting jazz vocalist in Asia.” Columbian percussionist Alonso Gonzalez, will bring Latin, African and Caribbean beats to the mix along with funky Hong Kong drummer, Michael Salcedo.
The enigmatic mix of jazz, electronic house, funk, soul and R&B promises a memorable debut for STUDIO, living up to the expectations of club founder Xuan Mu, who says, “Our guests have seen everything Hong Kong has to offer. We are bringing them something totally new.”

The high-octane celebrations continue on New Year’s Eve, when STUDIO presents ‘The Menagerie’ with Ibiza and Paris legend Erik Hagleton and Mike Murda, resident DJ at Hollywood Roosevelt alongside STUDIO residents Dee Montero and Seth Gutierrez.
