Craft beer takes centre-stage on Friday, 23 October at Atura Blacktown as the award winning design-inspired hotel hosts a curated eight-course craft beer degustation hosted by Eric Walters, Victoria’s Grand Ridge Brewery owner.
One of the pioneers of Australian craft brewing, Grand Ridge Brewery’s Eric Walters brings a wealth of beer experience to the table. From humble beginnings back in 1989, Eric has helped grow Grand Ridge Brewery in to one of Australia’s first and most recognised craft breweries“Showcasing the variety and diversity of Australian Craft Beer styles and tastes was our main consideration when choosing the hero ingredients for the menu” said Eric Walters. “I think we have some really interesting matches which I hope will challenge how guests think about beer and cider food pairing as well as provide a great background on just how far the Australian boutique craft beer scene has developed over the years.”
The degustation menu was designed by Atura Blacktown’s head chef Sidney Villaneuva in consultation with Eric who has matched each course, including dessert, with a different craft brew or cider. A shake-up from the traditional Atura Blacktown Roadhouse Bar & Grill menu, highlights at this ticketed beer degustation include seared scallops, quail breast, chocolate parfait and petit fours.
“We’re really excited about this upcoming beer dinner and having Eric Walters as host” said Joel Gordon, General Manager, Atura Blacktown. “Eric’s knowledge of the Australian craft brewing industry is unparalleled and we think that all those beer aficionados that join us for the evening will appreciate the diversity in line-up of beer and cider they’ll be enjoying on the night.
Atura Blacktown’s Beer Dinner starts at 6.00pm sharp at on Friday, 23rd October. Tickets cost $79 and this includes all eight courses with a glass of beer matched to that course.
