Delta Air Lines has announced a codeshare partnership with Kenya Airways. Delta’s flight code, which came into effect on 11th August 2018, is placed on Kenya Airways’ flights from Amsterdam, Paris, London, and Accra to Nairobi, enhancing connectivity and providing customers with a seamless one-stop travel experience from the United States.http://www.itb-asia.com/press/media-services/accreditation/ In addition, Delta has placed the code on Kenya Airways’ services to more than 10 key cities across Africa, including Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Lilongwe, Malawi; Maputo, Mozambique; Johannesburg, South Africa and Djibouti City, Djibout.

Corneel Koster, Delta’s Senior Vice President — Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India said: “Delta is the leading carrier between the United States and Africa. This new partnership with Kenya Airways will give customers even greater choice for travel between the continents thanks to Kenya Airways’ extensive network beyond Nairobi.”

Kenya Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Vincent Coste said: “We are delighted about this closer relationship with Delta, and believe that this will bring real benefits to our customers and our business.  Kenya Airways and Delta are both premier airlines and this agreement is a positive step in our cooperation.”

This latest development follows the announcement of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Kenya’s recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kenya Airways to undertake a joint marketing strategy to promote service offerings and guest experience. Under the agreement, Kenya Airways and Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Kenya will jointly marshal and position the airline as the preferred carrier into Kenya and Fairmont Kenya properties as the accommodation of choice for business and premium leisure travellers coming into the country.

Delta and Kenya Airways are both members of the SkyTeam alliance. Frequent Flyers can earn and redeem miles on both airlines, while Elite Plus travellers benefit from SkyPriority services. Operating flights to Africa since 2006, Delta serves Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. Kenya Airways is a leading African carrier and operates in 52 destinations worldwide, 43 of which are in Africa.
