Greater Fort Lauderdale has teamed up with One Magical Weekend to welcome travelers and residents alike for a Halloween weekend scare-cation. For the first time, they will host a series of themed events from October 28 through 31, including a VIP reception at B Ocean Resort, a Trick-or-Treat Beach Party on Sebastian Beach and a Zombie Invasion Halloween Party and Costume Contest.

Welcoming more than 1.5 million LGBTQ visitors to its sunny shores each year, Greater Fort Lauderdale is the ideal choice for hosting One Magical Weekend’s Halloween getaway at one of the world’s gayest beaches.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with One Magical Weekend to bring four days of fabulously spooky celebrations to Greater Fort Lauderdale,” said Richard Gray, LGBTQ managing director for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “From sunrise to sundown, the destination’s commitment to LGBTQ rights and inclusion and sunny and breezy weather makes us the perfect place for One Magical Weekend.”

The weekend’s festivities kick off on Friday October 28 at B Ocean’s ocean-side pool deck with sweeping views of the sparkling Atlantic and a “UNIFORM” inspired cocktail reception from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Chartered coaches will then sweep guests off their feet and onto Wilton Drive, a mile-long strip for shopping, dining and delight among some of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s many gay-owned and operated businesses.

“Greater Fort Lauderdale’s famously welcoming atmosphere and tropical setting are a perfect match for One Magical Weekend,” said Billy Looper, executive director for One Magical Weekend. “Our travelers are looking for a perfect vacation and with such a stunning beachside setting, Greater Fort Lauderdale is the ideal location to host our scare-tacular events for an unforgettable getaway.”

On Saturday, October 29, sunshine and a shady oceanside haven will welcome guests to an afternoon along the sandy shores of Sebastian Beach. Seaside tents and treats will last all afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at this complimentary event. Following a day of fun in the sun, the party continues at The Grand Resort, named “Best Gay Small Resort in the World” by Out Traveler. The free “WIG” party will serve cocktails and refreshments among the resort’s renowned tropical ambiance from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The weekend’s main event on Saturday night welcomes both good and evil at The Manor for a Zombie Invasion Halloween Party and Costume Party from 11:30 pm to 4:00 am. Spectacular light displays, music from DJ/Producer Tony Moran, a VIP area for One Magical Vacation guests and incredible costumes will make for an unforgettable evening.

Wind down on Sunday, October 30 with the Trick or Treat Tacky Tourist Boat Cruise from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. along the Intracoastal waterways, which have earned Greater Fort Lauderdale its “Venice of America” moniker. Guests are encouraged to dress up as tacky tourists while enjoying entertainment from TP Lord and Twisted Dee.
