Ms Halima Al Ghafri, Sales Executive at Millennium Resort Mussanah, developed by Omran, the leading tourism-related investment‚ development and Management Company in Oman, is this year’s recipient of the Young Hotelier of the Year Award.

Ghafri was recognised for her “consistent hard work, creativity, dedication, enthusiasm and passion for her job.” She was declared the winner of the highly-acclaimed award at this year’s Hotelier Middle East Award, the most well-respected awards recognition programme for the industry which honours individuals who make the region’s hotels some of the very best in the world.

Some of Ghafri’s notable achievements over the past 12 months include leading the team and forming the organising committee to host and arrange Oman’s National Day at the resort for the past two years; introduced new clients/accounts which contributed to increased hotel revenue in 2017 and achieved her target by 27% by bringing over 30 group events, and over 1,800 guests, generating revenue of over OMR30,000 during 2017.

Ghafri was not present to receive her award but commented: “This is one of the highlights of my career. I am very happy and very grateful to the management for recognising my hard work. This is a great blessing and I hope this award will encourage others especially my colleagues to give their best because it’s a great satisfaction personally and professionally.”

A graduate of PR & Advertising from the Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Halima started working at Millennium Resort Mussanah Oman in 2015 where she was Sales Administrator Coordinator and was eventually promoted to Sales Executive. She was awarded “Employee of the Month for February 2016.”
