Ham & Sherry, Wan Chai’s neighbourhood Spanish bodega by Yenn Wong and Chef Jason Atherton, has shifted its menu to encompass traditional “muy delicioso” dishes inspired by the motherland. The new placemat-style menu presents over two dozen tapas dishes with suggestions on sherry pairings for each course as well as an expanded Charcuteria offering.
In the “Para Picar” section, shareable small plates include Padron peppers (HK$88), Marinated olives (HK$48), Ham croquettas (HK$48), Chorizo & potato chips (HK$48) and Pan con tomate (HK$38), a favourite from the previous menu.
Ham & Sherry’s “Frituras” offerings include the, Salt cod fitters, tabasco aioli (HK$88), Crispy pig’s ears, sea salt, Xeres vinegar (HK$38), Courgette flower, goat’s cheese, lemon (HK$128), Chipirones, squid ink aioli (HK$88) and Crispy oyster, red onion dressing (HK$58).
Also new to the menu, and complimented by a Fino or Manzanilla sherry, are a number of delicious seafood dishes perfect for sharing including the Seared tuna, red pepper piperade (HK$138), Clams, lemon, olive oil (HK$118), Gambas, chilli, garlic (HK$128), and the Octopus, capers, smoked paprika (HK $148).
New tapas-style meat dishes include Lamb pintxos, fennel, pickled garlic (HK$98), Glazed Iberian pork ribs (HK$108), Bavette steak, tomato & red onion dressing (HK$138) and Braised ox tongue, roast peppers, capers (HK$118), perfect for pairing with an Oloroso sherry.
Vegetable lovers can choose from a selection of five shareable dishes, including Courgette, goat’s cheese, oregano, olive oil & lemon (HK$68), Aubergine, Piquillo peppers (HK$78), Chicory, pear, walnut, picos (HK$88), Tomato, fennel, anchovies (HK$78) and Green salad (HK$48).
To finish off the meal with a taste of Spain, diners can order traditional desserts including the Crème Catalan (HK$58), Churros, chocolate sauce (HK$68),Goat’s cheese, cheese cake, honey, pistachio (HK$68) or a Selection of Spanish cheese, quince paste (HK$138) to sample and share.
In addition to the new menu, Ham & Sherry also features a board of daily specials.
As Hong Kong temperatures start to rise, Ham & Sherry’s guests can now enjoy al fresco dining on Wan Chai’s popular Ship Street.
