Tokoriki Island Resort’s very generous guests Dave & Pam Umstead from the USA have kindly donated solar panels to every home on the village at Yanuya. Dave & Pam’s dream has come to fruition with the assistance of It’s Time Foundation which has enabled the children at the village to read at night. This is a great saving for the village residents as they no longer need to purchase fuel for lamps. Over 120 homes now have solar power which has changed their lives in many ways.
The resort has employed and trained many of the village residents over the past 20 years of operation. 2015 brings 20 years of service in the tourism industry for Tokoriki Island Resort and big celebrations will begin on September 1 with the owners for the past 20 years, management, the Tokoriki team (some of whom have been at the resort since opening) and of course our treasured guests.
