Festive Holiday Spirit
The Plantation House restaurant, a mansion replicated in a colonial style, as well as the Leisure Centre, home to a thoughtfully curated library and lounging area, will be decorated with a traditional Christmas tree and cheerful adornments to awaken the festive spirit. Both venues will play a lively mix of Christmas Carols and guests are able to enjoy a variety of festive nibbles including freshly baked mice pies and homemade gingerbread houses – keeping both the kids and the adults happy. Guests can request their own personal Christmas tree in their private villa. Laucala Island will also host a celebratory evening of authentic Fijian dancing and singing during the week of holiday festivities that will ensure a deeper insight into the culture.

Festive Activities
Throughout the festive break, Laucala Island has a kaleidoscope of activities for guests of all ages. For children, much-loved Christmas movies will be played throughout the holiday week in the Leisure Centre,  – an airy two-storey building designed in traditional Fijian-style, with doors opening onto a grassy lawn. With a state of the art movie screen, cosy chairs and games room, families and groups can relax for private celebrations. What’s more, groups can join a Cooking Class together, alongside Pastry Chef Jon Gladson who uses the island’s ingredients to create innovative desserts. Throughout the Festive Season guests can indulge in cake decorating, chocolate making and cookie baking. Private and group bookings are available.

For a bespoke Festive Season experience, Laucala Island offers a fleet of luxury yachts, dragon sailboats and traditional Fijian outriggers, ideal for sunset cruises. Guests can celebrate in style with an ocean trip that boasts uninterrupted ocean views, with chicken and cranberry canapés in one hand and a cheerful glass of Champagne in the other. The resort can also arrange a Seasonal Picnic Spread aboard any of the sail boats, on the beach or in-villa upon request.

Children’s Games
Parents have the choice of arranging in-villa babysitting, or kids can join the Kids Club which include mountain biking, playing in the beach’s largest sandpit or even a bubble-making dive course under the watchful supervision of trained staff.  The resort also offers Arts & Crafts classes for the little ones in the Fijian Cultural Village, where children can take home ornaments or decorate their in-villa Christmas tree with them.

Relaxing Escape
While the kids are kept busy, adults can relax in the Spa and visit Spa Villas, each with their own private room, hot stone relaxation room and outdoor bathtub. Facial and body treatments, massage therapies and salon services are all available. For adults, a relaxing day on the18-hole Championship Course, with drinks and lunch at the 9th hole is recommended.  Horseback riding through the plantations and coconut groves is also a wonderful way to start the day.

Festive Feasts
After the happy holiday spirits have come alive through island-style cultural activities, it is time to relax and revel in the Christmas Eve Feast at the Plantation House, showcasing the expertise of an international team of chefs, with a gourmet menu complimented by an exceptional wine list featuring older vintages and new world options. On Christmas day, guests are invited to dine on top-quality Christmas cuisine à la Laucala Island, at The Plantation House, with traditional dishes of succulent roast chicken and honey glazed hams, as well as an array of delicious cocktails. Alternatively, for those looking for something a little more secluded, guests are welcome to order their own private family BBQ on the beach.
