Harbour Arts Sculpture Park is officially open to the public from now until 11 April 2018. Presented by the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the project is Hong Kong’s first international sculpture park on the city’s iconic harbourfront co-curated by Tim Marlow, Artistic Director at the Royal Academy of Arts, and Fumio Nanjo, Director of Mori Art Museum and Director of International Programmes at Hong Kong Art School. It features sculptures by emerging and renowned local and international contemporary artists, and is accompanied by a dedicated multi-functional mobile app that interacts with the public, demonstrating how art can be part of our everyday lives.

The multi-functional mobile app acts as a booking system for all activities and the key resource to learn more about the sculptures and encourages visitors to experience the artworks with a trilingual audio guide in Cantonese, English and Mandarin. Narrated by Hong Kong celebrities, three specially designed thematic guided routes have been created that allow visitors to discover the space from a variety of approaches. Dream, walk and imagine with Jan Lamb, Michael Ning, Charmaine Fong and Uncle Siu in Cantonese and English. Artwork descriptions and artist biographies are available in standard and large prints for visitors who are with hearing impairment, while there are also wheelchair accessible routes. The app is now available for free download on Apple and Android devices.

To enhance public participation, the Harbour Arts Sculpture Park Photo Competition, sponsored by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited (“ICBC (Asia)”), is now open for all to promote art appreciation across the community.  Professionals can join the competition to photograph the beauty and essence of the artworks, while the public is welcome to participate as well to capture a picture-perfect moment with your families or friends among the artworks. Entries only require a few steps to upload via the website or app alongside personal details and competition categories for a chance to win prizes up to HKD10,000 of ICBC credit card spending limit.
