The new two year deal with Qantas sees the continuation of Helloworld’s successful commercial arrangement with the airline. The Qantas deal takes effect from 1 July, 2016.
The agreement with Jetstar marks a new direction for the low cost carrier with the one year agreement being the first commercial deal the airline has completed with a travel distribution in Australia. The Jetstar deal will come into effect on 1 August 2016.
Both deals will create new business benefits and opportunities for Helloworld.
Helloworld Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Andrew Burnes said the broadened partnership is an important milestone.
“This partnership builds on Helloworld’s strong relationship with the Qantas Group. With over 1600 members of our networks and buying group in Australia and New Zealand, these new deals will open up a range of new opportunities for our retail and wholesale businesses” Mr Burnes continued.
Qantas CEO Alan Joyce welcomed the benefits the commercial agreements would deliver to both the Qantas Group and Helloworld.
“These deals go a long way toward strengthening our relationship with Helloworld as their number one airline supplier,” he said.
“It also allows us to commence a range of joint marketing and sales activities as well as investigate new commercial opportunities that benefit our businesses.”
