Hertz Australia has once again been named the ‘Best Car/ Campervan Rental Operator’ at the 2016 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA). This is the ninth occasion in 10 years that Hertz has received this award from the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA).
The awards recognise overall excellence in the travel industry over the past 12 months. The NTIA’s are voted by AFTA’s membership base, and receive an average of over 3,600 industry votes during the polling period.
“We are thrilled to be recognised as the best operator in our field by our industry peers,” said Damien Shaw, Country Manager Hertz Australia. “This award is testament to the continued endorsement Hertz enjoys from the travel industry, and reaffirms our strategic focus on supporting this segment of the business”, Shaw explains. “On behalf of Hertz, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who voted.”
“I would also like to pay tribute to the wonderful staff at Hertz, our team is second to none. Their dedication to providing our customers with the best possible car rental experience is truly deserving of this award,” Shaw concludes.
AFTA is the peak body for Australia’s travel agents and represents the majority of the industry nationally. Founded in 1957, AFTA’s aim has been to stimulate, encourage and promote travel, and to uphold the interests of travel agents who form a vital part of Australia’s highly specialised travel and tourism industry.
The Gala Dinner and award presentation was held at the Dockside Pavillion, Darling Harbour, Sydney, on Saturday 16th July and was attended by more than 170 travel industry representatives.
