When we were thinking of what to have for dinner one night during our stay at the excellent Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residences, we were not stuck for choice.
The Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residences is a very smart and contemporary property and very well located for a massive range of Dubai eating options, including the massive Deira City Centre Mall being right underneath, with Dubai quickly becoming a food choice capital of the world.
In any case, the prospect of leaving the hotel after a busy Friday [the first day of the weekend here] at the pool [!] did not really appeal, so we made the decision to check out the hotel’s main restaurant, Medley, which looked pretty good, so off we went to explore what Medley had to offer.
I think that the last thing we expected to find thought was that Medley had been amazingly transformed for the night … and every Friday night from now on … into a palatial Indian restaurant, with world famous India and Delhi chef Sweety Singh as the master chef in residence for the launch night of the Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residence’ Indian food spectacular.
Amazingly we met Sweety on arrival, the epitome of a happy smiling chef and it gets better in that he was able to tell us all about the amazing Indian dishes he had prepared, working with what he described as Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residence’ highly professional and capable chefs … and to get a visual taste, check out my images below!
Sweety told me that he was so excited at being the Indian chef in residence at the Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residences and to make sure that his food was just as he wanted it, he had shipped all the spices and more that he was familiar with and used in India were shipped to Duba.
Believe me, from tasting Sweety’s amazing cuisine, that was the right decision as the spices and as a result the dishes were full and rich, giving an intensity of flavours I had not experienced since being in India, with the hot food all served in massive copper Indian bain maries … and all washed down with copious quantities of Indian beer and wine.
Sweety also told me that his cuisine, Punjabi Khanna is one of the most well-known and popular cuisines, with Punjabi culinary tradition falling back on its rich blend of spices that are redolent in the flavours of asli ghee, adding that that true to its tradition, Punjabi Khanna is a name famous for also providing the best outdoor catering services in Delhi under his guidance, famous for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food with authentic taste and typical old Delhi Papri Chaat, Golgappas, Tikki, Chilla, Matar Kulcha, Pav Bhajji, Dry Fruit Chart other snacks.
The Indian night at Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre – Hotel and Residences is held every Friday night and further information can be obtained from http://restaurants.accorhotels.com/gb/restaurant-2022_R002-medley-dubai.shtml
