Holiday Tea Offerings
With signature afternoon tea services reflective of those enjoyed in palaces around the world, the hotel has introduced two specialty holiday teas offered through January 5, 2020.

Le Petit Prince – A Children’s Tea at Baccarat, $70/person

A tea inspired by the famous children’s novela, The Little Prince, first published in April 1943 and voted the best book of the 20th century in France. The main theme is best conveyed through the secret the fox tells the Little Prince: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: what is essential is invisible to the eye.” Some items served with the tea (Hot Cocoa is recommended) include Comte Crepes, a Gruyere Biscuit, Chicken and Waffles, Coconut Cake Pops, a Chocolate Brownie Tree, and a Speculoos Snowflake. Le Petit Prince tea will include a copy of The Little Prince children’s book to serve as a memory for years to come.

A Christmas Carol – A Holiday Tea at Baccarat, $100/person with Tea, $125/person with Champagne

A tea inspired by the legendary “A Christmas Carol” written by Charles Dickens in 1843. A Christmas Carol was written during a period when the British were exploring and re-evaluating past Christmas traditions, including carols and newer customs such as Christmas trees. Dickens was influenced by the experiences of his own youth and by the Christmas stories of other authors. Guests will enjoy delicious savoury items including Foie Gras with Cranberry and Hazelnut, Gruyere Biscuit with Pumpkin and Sage, Turkey Confit with Chestnut and Truffle, and Lobster Salad with Fines Herbes and Caviar. Sweets include Rum Cake with Eggnog Chantilly, an Earl Grey Sugar Cookie, a Spiced Profiterol with Chocolate Cream, and Cheesecake with Cranberry Compote and Almond Sponge. Warm Housemade Scones with Devonshire Cream and Seasonal Gelée will also be served.

These gourmet bites are best enjoyed with Zeste Éclair tea, or paired with a glass of Louis De Sacy, Grand Cru champagne.

Holiday Cocktails
Spirited cocktail offerings in the popular Bar and Grand Salon include Blood and Sand and Baccarat Rouge.

Blood and Sand Cocktail

The Blood and Sand cocktail is a classic scotch-based cocktail that has withstood the test of time. The recipe first appeared in 1930 in “The Savoy Cocktail Book” by Harry Craddock and has become a mainstay on bar menus ever since.  It gets its name from a 1922 bullfighter movie and points to its ingredients: The “blood” represents Heering cherry liqueur, and the “sand” is for the orange juice. The Blood and Sand cocktail is made with Basil Hayden Bourbon, Tamarind Molasses, Cherry Heering Liqueur, Lemon, Orange, and Masala Bitters.

Baccarat Rouge Cocktail

The Baccarat Rouge embodies the story of the ‘Baccarat Red’, which is the color you see on our crystal chandeliers, our uniform pins, and sporadically throughout the hotel. This perfect color is reached by placing 24K gold dust in crystal that is heated to 500F. Baccarat Rouge is a literal translation to this. In the crystal glass you have gold fluid (tequila, passionfruit juice, lime and allspice) that is added to create a Baccarat Red Ice Cube made with our Baccarat blend tea, hibiscus and Aperol. The Baccarat Rouge cocktail is made with Clase Azul Plata Tequila, Passionfruit Juice, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, Lime Juice, Cardamaro Amaro, and a Baccarat Red Ice Cube.
