Hilton Auckland Hits The Monopoly Board

October 28, 2013 Hotel News No Comments Email Email

It is a double roll of the dice for Hilton Auckland, which appears both in the third green square and in the community chest card of the first 100 percent authentic Auckland version of the Monopoly game, launched by license partner of Hasbro, Winning Moves Australia.

The Auckland version of the game follows the successful launch of the Sydney Monopoly in 2012 and Perth Monopoly in September 2013.18053_1_FP

Twenty-two Auckland property landmarks were selected to replace the famous London streets from the original board after the public was invited to offer their suggestions via Facebook earlier in the year.

Hilton Auckland is the only hotel making an appearance on the board. The premium hotel on Princes Wharf scored an optimum third green square, just a couple of “steps” away from the Harbour Bridge and the Sky Tower.

Whilst playing the Auckland Monopoly game, you could pick up Hilton Auckland’s community chest card and be the winner in the game of a weekend for two in a luxurious Bow Suite, a real treasure accommodation located at the northern tip of Princes Wharf.

Commenting on the appearance of Hilton Auckland on the Auckland Monopoly board, Roger Brantsma, general manager, said: “Who doesn’t love Monopoly? Who doesn’t want to gain the best properties on the final line? I am thrilled to see our hotel make such a nice appearance on the first official Auckland Monopoly game. It shows and proves how the hotel has become an iconic destination in Auckland city.”

Brantsma also added: “If you consider the hotel’s unique location with sweeping water views over the Waitemata Harbour; superb food in FISH restaurant and artistic cocktails in Bellini Bar; and most importantly, a professional dedicated team to turn every single guest experience into a positive and enjoyable journey, we are pleased that Hilton Auckland is considered one of the 22 greater Auckland landmarks.”The first ever official Auckland Monopoly game will be available at all toy stores from the beginning of November 2013, in time for Christmas, priced at $59.99.
