17 Hilton Brisbane team members have brought a touch of sunshine to South East Brisbane Ronald McDonald House and its families, hosting a summer-themed ‘Make a Meal’ dinner where over 80 home-cooked meals were served.

The Ronald McDonald Make a Meal Dinner Program invites teams of co-workers, community groups, friends and family members to prepare dinner for families staying at the House every Tuesday evening throughout the year.

The program is an opportunity for team members to develop their leadership skills and give back to the local community – aligning with one of Hilton’s Mission elements to create meaningful opportunities for team members.

Leading the night was Guest Services Agent, Ivan Volov – arranging everything from theming and decorations to coordinating the kitchen and promoting the event through the Hilton Brisbane network. Another key leader was apprentice chef, Tyrus Hilietule, who with the support and guidance of Chef de Partie, Stefan Preuss, cooked and prepped the delicious dinner for the families in attendance.

The Brisbane hotel was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2019 Queensland Hotel Association Awards for their Outstanding Community Service 100+ employees. This is yet another example of their efforts to have a positive impact and to help support Hilton’s 2030 Travel with Purpose goals of doubling its investment in social impact and cutting its environmental footprint in half.

Chris Partridge, General Manager at Hilton Brisbane, said “supporting the Make a Meal is another fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the community and help make Hilton’s Travel with Purpose goals a reality”.

Hilton Brisbane’s summer barbeque was the final of three programs for the hotel in 2019, with another three locked in for 2020 including a Christmas-themed event.
