South East Queensland’s Hilton hotels celebrated success at the annual 2018 Queensland Hotel Association (QHA) Awards for Excellence held Monday 8 October, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. http://www.tourismthailand.org/landing/landing_en.html

Renowned for being the Queensland hotel industry’s most prestigious accolades, the annual QHA Awards for Excellence celebrated the best of the best at this year’s gala dinner, unveiling a swathe of talent and innovation across 40 award categories.

Hilton Brisbane were awarded a trio of coveted awards, including Outstanding Achievement in Training, Outstanding Community Service and Achievement 100+ Employees, with Human Resources Advisor at Hilton Brisbane, Morgan Biggar, being recognised with the Administration Employee of the Year award.

For the 2nd year running Hilton Brisbane took out the top spot for Outstanding Achievement in Training acknowledging the hotel’s strategy to embrace Hilton’s own learning and development curricula and create local partnerships that not only provide for future Hilton careers but also the industry in general.

“I am delighted that the hotel has won three awards that bring Hilton’s purpose to life by providing meaningful opportunities for team members and leadership in the community. It is also a great honour to become eligible to enter the QHA Hall of Fame for being awarded the Community Service and Achievement title three years running.” said, Chris Partridge, general manager, Hilton Brisbane.

Gold Coast’s Hilton Surfers Paradise was also recognised as a finalist for its Outstanding Achievement in Training, while two Team Members were also nominated as finalists for their excellent service and talent.

Hilton Surfers Paradise Assistant Front Office Manager, Chris Spielmann, was listed as one of four finalists for the Industry Rising Star award, while Event Sales Coordinator, Adrianna Hair, was named a finalist for Guest Services Employee of the Year.
