Hilton, the world’s first global hotel company, officially celebrates its 100th anniversary on May 31, during the most dynamic year in the company’s storied history.

The hospitality brand that pioneered air-conditioned rooms, in-room dining, the computerized reservation system and even the piña colada has led the way serving more than three billion guests, employing ten million staff and expanding across the world opening a new hotel every day.

Joining in the celebrations, Hilton Surfers Paradise kicks off festivities on Friday, May 24 with a special event and charity fundraiser which pays tribute to Hilton’s history and impact over the last 100 years. The evening coincides in celebrations with the Schwartz Family Co. Pty Ltd recent acquisition of Hilton Surfers Paradise, and first purchase in the Queensland market.

Hilton Surfers Paradise general manager, Fiona Pryde, shares her excitement of the hotel’s upcoming celebrations and Hilton’s continued contribution to people and cultures around the world.

“What an amazing time to be with Hilton! Over the last 100 year’s Hilton has transformed our industry and continues to have a profound impact on guests, Team Members and communities around the world, so we are extremely excited to celebrate this legacy,”

“Our event celebrations will encompass an elegant evening of cocktails, canapés and live entertainment as we showcase some of the best Hilton creations over the last century. To give back to the community, we’ve also extended our hotel rooms for the night, for use by our charity partners.” said Ms. Pryde.

“Myself and the Team are thrilled our new hotel owner, Jerry Schwartz will be joining us, as the evening is also a celebration of his recent acquisition. It’s been a delight to see Schwartz Family Co kick things off with their charitable generosity and philanthropic efforts, which is of shared importance for Hilton.” added Ms. Pryde.

To mark Hilton’s official birthday, on May 31, Hilton Surfers Paradise will be giving away 100 free chocolate brownies from their onsite Café, The Food Store, paying homage to another Hilton innovation, originating from Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.
