Hilton Waikīkī Beach on Kūhiō received the Hawaii Green Business Award from the state of Hawaii on Friday, August 5. The hotel was one of eight businesses honored for their efforts in energy efficiency. The awards were presented by Gov. David Ige and hosted by the Hawaii State Energy Office, Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT) and the Department of Health.

“We’re extremely proud of our team for their continued commitment to energy conservation and environmentally friendly work practices,” says Erich Smith, general manager, Hilton Waikiki Beach. “We accept this award with humble gratitude for the work our employees have done to lessen our carbon footprint.”

The hotel recently received the prestigious ENERGY STAR® Award from the Environmental Protection Agency for its conservation of energy. Combined with its reduction of energy usage, reduction of water usage, recycling efforts and community service, Hilton Waikiki Beach is proud to receive the Hawaii Green Business Award for the first time in its history.
