Queen’s Mill Tea Rooms announces that it will now also open Mondays 10am to 4pm. The tea room is located within the Queen’s Mill flour mill situated alongside the river aire in Castleford. The Mill is the largest stone ground mill in the world.

Run by a charity and assisted by dedicated volunteers, the mill has just started milling flour again in the traditional way. The volunteers are now working towards refurbishing the main weir wheel in order to provide the original water power to the process.

The tea room was originally the mill canteen where the mill workers would take their breaks. Prior to opening the tea room the canteen was painted and wallpapered and now provides a luxury relaxing atmosphere.

The tea room offers high quality home baking accompanied by Yorkshire tea, fresh ground coffee, premium wines and local ales. Afternoon teas are a Queen’s Mill speciality.

The tea room’s revised winter hours are as follows:

Thursday 10am to 4pm Friday 10am to 4pm Saturday 10am to 4pm Sunday 11am to 4pm Monday 10am to 4pm
