POINT 1: Four Points, the sports and BBQ lovin’ hotel brand with over 200 locations around the world, is celebrating college football season as never before with the Four Points + Coke Zero Ultimate Fan Experience, a series of free tailgating events at college football game days this Fall.
Kicking off on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the USC Trojans vs. Utah Utes game in Los Angeles, each Four Points + Coke Zero Ultimate Fan Experience will feature RV karaoke with sports-themed tunes, iconic tailgate games such as cornhole and, of course, unforgettable food. To create the lip-smacking menu, Four Points tapped BBQ expert Elizabeth Karmel to serve as the series’ Chief Grill Master. Karmel’s exclusive ‘Tangy Tailgate Sauce’ recipe, made with Coke Zero, will be served up with her signature North Carolina whole-hog barbecue (for free) as the signature main dish at every tailgate.
POINT 2: “An ice-cold beverage, bold BBQ bites and a big screen TV tuned to their favorite college football game— these are the types of amenities fans of Four Points know they get during every stay with us,” said Paige Francis, Vice President, Global Brand Management, Starwood’s Specialty Select Brands. “This Fall, we’re excited to bring these passions on the road and take over that grand American tradition: the tailgate. With the help of Coke Zero and the incredible Elizabeth Karmel, the Four Points + Coke Zero Ultimate Fan Experience is going to be unforgettable and delicious for sports loving fans all over the country.”
“Nothing gets my grill going like game day,” said Elizabeth Karmel, Four Points + Coke Zero Ultimate Fan Experience Chief Grill Master, and owner of CarolinaCuetoGo.com. “That’s why I’m so excited football fans across the country will get to enjoy my signature Carolina Cue at these smoking-hot tailgate parties. What’s even better—anyone who wants to host a tailgate at home can order the same North Carolina pulled pork and vinegar sauce from CarolinaCueToGo.com.”
POINT 3: Following the October 24 kickoff, the Four Points + Coke Zero Ultimate Fan Experience will be touching down at the following games: UCLA vs. Colorado (10/31), University of Alabama vs. LSU (11/7), and Auburn vs. Georgia (11/14). Every tailgate is free and open to the public and will feature a complimentary menu including Karmel’s North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork Sandwich recipe. To complete each game day feast, two local BBQ joints in each city will square off in a “Side Dish Showdown” to be voted on by the fans. Each winner will see their recipe featured on Coca-Cola Journey, and – most importantly – have unlimited bragging rights. Additionally, each tailgate will include cold Coca-Cola products; the exclusive Four Points “RVIP” karaoke bus with a playlist of iconic sports anthems; Biergarten-style picnic tables; and tailgating games such as cornhole where guests can win tons of cool swag, including free hotel stays.
POINT 4: For anyone who can’t make it to the games, Four Points and Karmel have those taste buds covered. The two have collaborated to create the “Four Piggies” a mouth-watering package of Carolina Cue goodness by Karmel’s very own Online Barbecue Shack, CarolinaCueToGo.com. Each package is shipped in a cooler with dry ice and contains 2 pounds of North Carolina Hickory-Smoked Whole-Hog Barbecue, 1 pound of chopped cabbage (to make the Carolina Slaw), 1 package of Buns, 1 16-ounce bottle of Elizabeth Karmel’s signature Carolina Cue Vinegar Sauce (for making the slaw and adding to the ‘cue), plus Four Points + Coke Zero Tailgate Recipe Cards featuring exclusive dishes by Karmel. Additionally, Four Points has hidden “golden pig” tickets inside four of these limited time only boxes – find one and win a free weekend stay at any Four Points hotel in the USA. “It’s the adult version of Willy Wonka’s golden ticket!” said Karmel.
