This activity aimed to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and as an appreciation of their services.

On this special occasion, Mrs. Djero Wiladja (Chairman of the Veterans Bali), Mr. Gusti Bagus Saputera, Mr. I Made Sandi, Mr. I Gusti Putu Netra, Mr. I Nyoman Sasih, Mr. I Made Kesiyab, and Mr. I Ketut Sudiarka, shared their past experiences during the declaration of independence of the Republic of Indonesia 71 years ago.

Ms. Djero Wiladja said “We are delighted to share the experience during the war in 1940s. We hope our stories and our services can be remembered and become an inspiration for the youth in Indonesia.”

Mr. Gusti Bagus Saputera also reminded the young generation to continue the fight, not by fighting in the war but to carry-out their responsibilities and do well for their life. He said, “Carry-out your responsibilities as well as possible because work is a dedication to our God and fellow humans. Do not compete and be selfish, but to respect each other.”

“We hope this event can be an annual event to serve as a reminder to our-self that this freedom was not obtained easily but with a lot of sacrifices“, said I Putu Juliana Ekaputra, Director of Human Resources of Holiday Inn Resort Bali Benoa. “Without all of them and their dedication, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this freedom,“ he added.
