A cost comparison from TripAdvisor®, the world’s largest travel site* with more than 630,000 holiday rental properties around the world, shows families and groups travelling for a week or more can save substantially by choosing a holiday rental.

http://www.colestraining.com/The study looks at the average cost of accommodation for a week’s stay in a two-bedroom holiday rental, as well as a week’s stay in two bedrooms in a three-star hotel, in popular domestic and international destinations over the summer travel season. The results show that travellers, specifically those in need of multiple bedrooms for an extended stay, can save up to 58% by choosing a holiday rental.

Australian holiday-makers will find the greatest savings in popular destination such as the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Sydney, where a one-week stay in a two-bedroom rental property will save travellers 41%, 40% and 23% respectively when they book a rental property rather than two hotel rooms.

For international travellers, the savings are equally impressive, with two bedroom properties in Goa, Orlando and Seattle coming to 58%, 51% and 47% cheaper than two hotel rooms. Those who love to soak up the sun in Hawaii are in for a treat and could save 31% just by choosing a rental property in Honolulu. Likewise, travellers chasing the snow are in luck with potential savings of 38% and 39% to be found Toronto and Vancouver.

“Holiday rentals are a great option, especially for families or larger groups going away for a week or more who don’t mind forgoing certain hotel conveniences, such as housekeeping, room service and a concierge, in exchange for a more affordable stay,” commented Jean Ow-Yeong, TripAdvisor spokesperson.  “Summer is a notoriously expensive time to travel, but, as our study shows, choosing a holiday rental can make things much more affordable.”
