Three years since the debut of “Holland. The Original Cool.” by the Holland Marketing Alliance, the campaign is back to release a brand new short film on October 4, 2016. The next and final chapter in this successful visual storytelling campaign, which chronicles the cool people, places and things to discover in Holland, presents “The Tale of Kat and Dog: A Holland Cool Movie.” The 17-minute short film, produced by Mustache Agency, will be released online at www.hollandcoolmovie.com at 8 p.m. EST following an exclusive premiere for a select audience in New York City. In advance of the short film debut, a teaser trailer was released to give viewers a sneak peek of the film.
The film is the final installment of the campaign from the Holland Marketing Alliance partners: Netherlands Board of Tourism & Conventions (NBTC), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Amsterdam Marketing, and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Since 2013, “Holland. The Original Cool.” has shown viewers what makes the destination so cool – from cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam, to Dutch cultural highlights like Van Gogh, ice skating, the Dutch dance scene and even how to drink jenever.
“The Tale of Kat and Dog: A Holland Cool Movie” follows the story of Kat, a New Yorker traveling to Holland on business. On her way home before a fateful meeting with a Dutch dog named Joepie, and through various twists and turns in Amsterdam, Kat comes to realize that she crossed paths with Joepie for a reason, and that her life will never be the same because of it.
“This is our biggest year yet for Holland. The Original Cool.,” explains Rosina Shiliwala, Director, NBTC North America. “The Holland Marketing Alliance has been humbled by how much the campaign has resonated with consumers. The US market has grown year over year since the start of this campaign in 2013, and we crossed a major milestone last year with over 1 million Americans visiting Holland—the first time in a decade. Because of that, we thought a lot about how to end this extremely successful campaign in its last year. We are really proud of our new short film as we believe it has the essence of Holland Cool that our fans have come to know and love, but in a whole new way.
