‘Hollywood’ horses, rollerblades and go-karts form part of new team-development products launched in Macarthur, 45 minutes from the Sydney CBD, for the corporate, sports and group markets.

Sydney Trail Riding Centre6The group action and adventure experiences for the growing meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) market follow the opening in the Macarthur region of the Sydney Trail Riding Centre, the new Maximum Skating centre – the largest rollerblading facility in Australia – and the opening on September 9 of Australia’s largest indoor go-karting centre, Ultimate Karting Sydney.

Aimed at conference delegates, employees, sports teams and social groups, the fun team building experiences are designed to facilitate communication, group rapport and creativity.

Nestled amongst more than 200 hectares of Macarthur’s rolling hills and dales but only 40 minutes from the centre of Sydney, the newly-opened Sydney Trail Riding Centre at Denham Court near Campbelltown has launched an Equine Assisted Team Development program which helps groups overcome fears, tackle challenges calmly and develop intuition.

The owner of the Sydney Trail Riding Centre, Grahame Ware Jnr, is an expert horse trainer who has managed horses and worked with movie stars such as Jackie Chan, Chris Hemsworth, Elijah Wood and Daniel Macpherson on major Hollywood films such as ‘The Great Gatsby’, ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Moulin Rouge’ as well as hit TV shows such as Underbelly – Razor and Puberty Blues. Grahame’s horses have also starred in popular TV shows such as ‘A Place to Call Home’ – filmed in the Macarthur region, McLeod’s Daughters, The Saddle Club and Wild Boys.

The day also includes morning tea, lunch and a trail ride through open woodlands and grasslands boasting views of the city 50km away. The Equine Assisted Team Development day is available from $240 per person, with a minimum group size of four people.  Call 0432 105 104 or visit

Also new in the Macarthur region is Maximum Skating, a huge indoor rollerblading and rollerskating centre boasting the biggest rollersports rink in Australia, measuring 52m by 26m, and seating for 200 people. Located at Smeaton Grange between Camden and Campbelltown, the centre is offering its facilities – including meeting rooms – to corporate groups seeking to mix business with some stress-relieving skating and team building. Group skating sessions are available from $15 per person (min 10 people) with function packages available by request. Call 4624 5900 or visit

And opening on September 9, 2013, is Australia’s largest indoor go-karting centre, Ultimate Karting Sydney, which is offering facilities, including catering, for functions, corporate events, team building programs, birthday celebrations and hens and bucks parties. The huge, 3745 square-metre, purpose-built centre at Smeaton Grange near Narellan boasts a 450m long by 6m wide concrete track with 14 G-force-inducing corners, a 12m-high ceiling and a fleet of 30 European, state-of-the-art karts and four motion simulators featuring V8 Supercar and Formula 1 adventures.
