HomeAway®, the new home of Stayz®, today announces the shortlist of finalists in the 2018 HomeAway Holiday Rental Awards and calls on Aussies to vote for their favourite holiday rental. 

Each year the HomeAway Holiday Rental Awards find Australia’s greatest holiday homes and celebrates the thousands of unique holiday rentals where travellers go to create memorable and relaxing experiences.

“We’re very pleased to announce this year’s finalists which features amazing properties from all over the country across a range of categories including Family Friendly, Unique, Design, Nature, Indulgence, Urban, Pet Friendly and Hospitality,” said Simone McDermid, ANZ PR & Communications Manager, HomeAway.

The People’s Choice category gives everyone the chance to decide Australia’s greatest holiday rental on HomeAway.com.au and win a $10,000 HomeAway voucher to fund their next holiday adventure.

“People’s Choice is an opportunity for HomeAway to include every Australian in the holiday rental awards and showcase the vast range of holiday rental properties that HomeAway in  Australia has to offer,” said McDermid.

This year the Holiday Rental Awards eight categories will be judged by a panel of experts, including: Wendy Moore, Editor in Chief of Home Beautiful and host on House Rules ; and Charlie Albone, Australia’s most prominent landscape designer and Selling Houses Australia personality.

“This is a great opportunity to discover some of the best backyards in holiday homes across the country,” said Charlie. “I’m really excited to see how holiday home owners have used their outdoor spaces to cater for different types of travellers, bringing the indoors, outside.”

Charlie and Wendy each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the judging panel and will judge the shortlisted properties and choose a gold, silver and bronze winner from each category.

“Holiday rentals are the key ingredient for creating unique travel experiences. What we’re looking for as judges are those special touches inside and out that make a home and ultimately a holiday, special,” said Moore.

The winners of each category as well as the People’s Choice will be announced on awards.homeaway.com.au on 29 th August 2018 as well as the competition prize winner of the $10,000 prize.
