Known for successfully presenting the boating lifestyle as an Affordable Luxury, the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show is celebrating its 16th edition.
Continuing to inspire dreams offering a multi-faceted programme, the show runs from 29 April to 2 May 2016. Dubbed as the region’s largest boat show, the 4-day event is expected to attract over 12,000 visitors from yachting novices to true connoisseurs. The event features a mega showcase of the latest cruisers, yachts and watersports equipment on the market, together with entertainment options for the family and the one and only Gold Coast Cardboard Boat Charity Regatta in support of Children’s Cancer Foundation.
“We are very enthusiastic to present our 16th edition of the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show, which has attracted more international exhibitors and visitors each year. With more than 260 islands and 700km coastline, Hong Kong is an amazing destination for boating. Over the four days, we will showcase the region’s pleasure boating industry and aim to offer both local and overseas boat lovers a variety of options for every kind of budget. The boat show is also intended for the whole family by offering a multitude of activities.” says Robert Blythe, General Manager of the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club.
Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show: A Remarkable Exhibition
Set in unique scenery, more than 60 major international exhibitors will display an impressive collection of vessels and related equipment. With a combined value of over HK$ 1 billion dollars, from small sailboats and runarounds to superyachts, prices range from less than HK$100,000 to more than HK$50 million.
With modern and vibrant lines, the Arcadia 85, from Arcadia Yachts, is one of the highlights of 2016.
Named after the home of Pan, the Greek god of the wild, associated with natural splendor, this boat is a real ode to life and pleasure.
This classy motor vessel of almost 85 feet, which can welcome up to 8 guests in a stylish luxury interior design, embraces some eco-friendly principles with 431 square feet of solar panels reducing the reliance on emissions-emitting gensets.
Exclusively presented at the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show 2016, the first boat ever built by Princess Yachts International has been entirely restored under the name “Project 31” to bring back its glory and elegance. By restoring this boat, the successful shipyard demonstrates one more time how stylish and innovative it is.
Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show: A Moment for Family
More than just a boating exhibition, the Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show also offers a selection of exciting activities for the whole family.
Relax at Food Street; an appetizing area dedicated to Food & Beverage experiences. Visitors and their families will be able to please their palates and tickle their taste buds with a mouth-watering selection of Western and Chinese delicacies.
Kids are also catered for at the Children’s Entertainment Zone where they will find a diverse range of activities and games available; Flying in the air jumping on the bouncy castle, becoming a butterfly at the creative face painting booth or even walking a dog with the magic balloon twisting booth are just few of the possibilities for kids to fancy big and have lots of fun.
Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show: A Meaningful Cause
For the second year, Hong Kong Gold Coast Boat Show will present the Cardboard Boat Charity Regatta. Through this worthwhile challenge, participating teams from Hong Kong Corporations, educational establishments and other organizations will help raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Foundation. Using only the materials provided by the organisers to create their own skiff, each participating team will demonstrate its creativity and competitive spirit, and then race for a good cause. All funds raised will be pledged to the Children’s Cancer Foundation without any deduction. The contest is now open for enrolment, please visit www.hkgcboatshow.com/charity-event/ for details.
