Hong Kong’s Acclaimed Jiang-Nan Cuisine Dining Destination Crystal Jade Jiang Nan Paying Homage to Fleeting Season of Spring Bamboo Shoot Delicacy
Hong Kong’s acclaimed Jiang-Nan cuisine dining destination – Crystal Jade Jiang Nan is presenting an enticing array of exclusive spring-time menus, featuring Hangzhou’s renowned fresh bamboo shoots, a gastronomic 10-course Sake Dinner on 27 April and a new Weekend Dim Sum experience.
Helmed by a team of master chefs with vast experience in restaurants from the southern region of the Yangtze Delta, featuring authentic recipes with contemporary presentation, Crystal Jade Jiang Nan pays tribute to prized delicacies with four seasonal delights this April including Braised Spring Bamboo Shoots with Soy Sauce, Shrimp Roe or Shepherd’s Purse (HK$128), Fried Spring Bamboo Shoots Stuffed with Shrimp Paste (HK$198), Braised Pork Belly with Spring Bamboo Shoots (HK$108), Simmered Spring Bamboo Shoots with Pickled Vegetables (HK$128); and Stewed Noodles with Spring Bamboo Shoots and Preserved Vegetables(HK$78/bowl).
The brief emergence of spring bamboo shoots is highly anticipated by gourmets – just like truffle, asparagus and hairy crab. Tasting like artichoke, corn and hearts of palm, it bears no resemblance to preserved shoots. The new upscale sister brand to the Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao with branches across Hong Kong, is sourcing the tender, aromatic ‘dug-from-the-ground’ delicacy from a premium grower in Hangzhou.

Crystal Jade Jiang Nan has attracted rave reviews since making its debut late last year as an upscale sister brand to contemporary Shanghai bistro chain Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao.
While the original chain with outlets across Hong Kong has earned widespread public and critical acclaim – including ‘Bib Gourmand’ recognition for quality, excellent value for money in the Hong Kong & Macau MICHELIN Guide – classier Crystal Jade Jiang Nan is setting its sight even higher in the ‘affordable premium’ bracket; specialising in Jiang-Nan cuisine, from the southern region of the Yangtze Delta which stems from Jiangsu and Zhejiang cuisine which is celebrated among the ‘Eight Great Traditions’ of Chinese gastronomy, along with Cantonese, Shandong, Sichuan, Anhui, Hunan, and Fujian cuisine.
Crystal Jade Jiang Nan introduces a collection of Jiang-Nan classics renowned for their exceptional delicacy and complex cooking processes. Derived from the native cooking styles of the Huai and Yangtze rivers, the cuisine is widely seen in Chinese culinary circles as the most popular and prestigious style of Jiangsu cuisine. Some of the classics include Homemade Wine Flavoured Egg(HK$18), marinated in homemade brine from vintage distiller’s grain; traditional, succulent Braised Pork Belly (HK$82); Homemade Fish Balls with Vegetables (HK$128), distinct from Cantonese fish balls for their soufflé-like texture and rich fresh fish flavor; and extravagant red-coloured Wuxi-style Braised Pork Ribs (HK$138).
Rounding- up the indulgent Crystal Jade Jiang Nan experience are their authentic Jiang-Nan style desserts such as Millet Cake Hangzhou Style (HK$36), Imperial Pea Pudding (HK$36), Pan-fired Pancake with Red Date Paste (HK$50) and more.
