SOUTH American eco-adventure operator explora has introduced two new programs based on exploration on horseback to provide a hands-on experience of exploring the diversity of Chile from a different view point.
The new horseback programs will be held in Patagonia and Atacama and consist of five days and four nights. The program is offered year round with a minimum of two people per departure.
They have been designed for confident horseback riders with previous experience as some of the day rides can be physically demanding and require participants to have a certain level of knowledge and skill for trekking on horseback for extended periods of time.
Both properties, explora Patagonia in Torres del Paine National Park and explora Atacama in San Pedro, Atacama, have on site stables which are run by local gauchos who train and tend to all the horses. The horses often come from explora’s stud farm in central Chile where they have been bred and trained especially for travellers to ride them.
The programs are operated from the lodges where you will return each night after your day exploring with your guide, gaucho/horse trainer and fellow horse riders.
Prices start from $3300 per person at explora Patagonia and from $3000 at explora Atacama lodge and include accommodation with all meals, soft and alcoholic beverages, transfers from the local airport and equipment including all-terrain vehicles and horses, as required for the range of exploration
